About The Blissful Family

Introduction

A group of friends, who were members of the Winners Trumpet – the choir wing of the Living Faith Church, Abuja, established a bond amongst themselves from close interaction between 1996 and 2010. During this period the solo Living Faith Church (LFC) located in Area 1, the then church village, moved to its new site in Durumi Phase 1. The closely knitted relationship continued to blossom and expand

This group of people stood and supported each other through the years, beyond the Winners Trumpet Choir relationship and beyond the Choir welfare coverage. They went beyond the call of duty in their support for each other by contributing financially and materially during each other’s special events.

Formal Inauguration

In 2011, an informal discussion between Sis Dami and Sis Bimbo metamorphosed into the formal inauguration of the group then called “Family Prayer Movement”. A formal inauguration took place in the Oluwakayode’s residence, near Lugbe Market, on March 27th, 2011. In attendance were Sisters: Damilola Olokeogun, Bimbo Matt-Ojo, Moji Oluwakayode, Kemi Arolasafe, Iyabo Oluwadare, Vickie Ajala, Bunmi Olowookere, Mercy Olakunde and Brothers: Tunji Olatunde and Matthew Ojo – All choir members.

CAC REGISTRATION: TBF was formally registered with CAC on December 14th, 2014, and is fully incorporated.

Name Change

Until 2012 the group was known and called “The Family Prayer Movement”. In 2012 there was a call to get a proper name for the group and several submissions were made by individuals and families. Out of the several submissions the name submitted by Sis Dorothy – The Blissful Family (TBF) was selected as most appropriate. The group has not only borne this name since then but had the name officially incorporated and registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on December 12, 2014.

Administration

At inception, Matt-Ojos took on the mantle of leadership as Group Coordinator from 2011 to 2014. In 2014, a formal election was conducted during a meeting which held in the Kolawole’s residence (Gwarinpa) to elect the first President – Pst Gbenga Arolasafe came on board. Another election was conducted in 2016 – Dcn Seun Olokeogun came on board. A third election was held in February 2019 including several other elections. Current Exco is headed by Pst. Matthew Ojo.
